In early autumn, the bright red party flag flutters high in the Baili Salt District on the banks of Laizhou Bay. The white and crystal salt mountains seem to be telling people affectionately the wonderful story of Shandong Haihua’s "sea-cooking people".

On June 23, 1958, the Shandong Yangkou Salt Plant established the Preparatory Office Committee and became the first party branch built in a shack. Since then, the bright red party flag has been flying on the salt flats. Over the past 60 years, the Yangkou Salt Plant has cultivated the spirit of hard work and selfless dedication, and built the largest sea salt production base in my country.
