- WACKER US fumed silica production plant put into operation
On October 2nd, German chemical group WACKER officially put into operation a fumed silica production plant at the Charleston production site in Tennessee, USA.
The fumed silica production plant has an annual capacity of 13,000 tons. The products produced are not only used for export, but also for WACKER's own silicone production. The new plant has a total investment of about $150 million and created 50 new jobs at the Charleston production site.
