China's anti-dumping investigation on methionine production in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan
The Ministry of Commerce announced on April 10 that it would conduct an anti-dumping investigation on imported methionine originating in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan.
On March 4, 2019, the Ministry of Commerce received an application for anti-dumping investigation submitted by Ningxia Ziguang Tianhua Methionine Co., Ltd. on behalf of the domestic methionine industry. The applicant requested methionine originating in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan. Conduct anti-dumping investigations. According to the evidence provided by the applicant and the preliminary review by the Ministry of Commerce, the applicant's methionine production accounted for more than 50% of the total output of similar products in China in 2016, 2017 and 2018, in line with relevant regulations. The Ministry of Commerce decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on methionine originating in the above countries from April 10, 2019. The dumping investigation period determined in this survey is from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018, and the industrial damage investigation period is from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2018.
The survey began on April 10, 2019 and should normally be completed by April 10, 2020. In special cases, it can be extended to October 10, 2020.
