Asian caustic soda prices continue to rise

As of March 8, the average price of caustic soda in Asia increased by $15/dmt from last week to $415/dmt (CFR South East Asia) due to the increase in enquiries. In the same period, the average price of caustic soda (Northeast Asia FOB) also rose by $20/ton to $370/ton.
Experts said that since mid-January this year, the spot price of caustic soda in Asia has mostly shown an upward trend. Although Chinese producers have chosen to focus on the more lucrative domestic market since October last year, they are still expected to return to the spot market once their profits are substantial.
