The difference between anhydrous sodium sulfite and sodium sulfite is mainly manifested in the following aspects
Anhydrous sodium sulfite:
Molecular formula: Na2SO3
Performance: commonly known as sulfur oxygen, soluble in water, water solution is alkaline, slightly soluble in liquid chlorine, ammonia, is a reducing agent
Uses: it can be used as deoxidizer and bleaching agent in printing and dyeing industry; developing agent in photographic industry; lignin remover in papermaking industry; stabilizer for artificial fiber in textile industry; reducing agent in chemical production; electroplating treatment etc.
Sodium sulfite:
Molecular formula: Na2S2O3
Molecular weight: 126.04
Physicochemical properties: white crystalline powder, density 2.633, soluble in water, aqueous solution is alkaline, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in liquid chlorine and ammonia. Contact with air is easy to oxidize to sulfate, when the temperature is decomposed into sodium sulfide and sodium sulfate, contact with strong acids decompose the corresponding salts and put out sulfur dioxide, strong reducing agent, and the effect of SO2 is generated by Sodium Bisulfite.
